Three Kingdom: Resurrection of the Dragon 三國之見龍卸甲

Just watched Three kingdom: Resurrection of the dragon yesterday evening, actually I wanted to watch this on tueday, so that after that i just have to go have a good meal and off to CG after that, but due to the power outrage on tueday, I decided to watch on wednesday evening instead

Andy Lau stars as Zhao Zilong, a veteran general of the Kingdom of Shu who took a last stand against the invading forces from the Kingdom of Wei. Maggie Q is the fictional Cao Ying, a grand-daughter of the warlord Cao Cao, whose son Cao Pi became the first emperor of the Kingdom of Wei.

The story depicts an alternate history, following the events that unfolded in the Three Kingdoms era through the life of the legendary Shu general Zhao Zilong. Zhao Zilong began his military career as a soldier in Liu Bei's army. Zhao Zilong once displayed his fine spear skills to Liu Bei in a small face-off with Guan Yu and Zhang Fei. This impressed Liu Bei, and he decided to promote Zhao Zilong to the rank of a general. Zhao Zilong was bestowed with the 'All Piercing Spear'.
Romance of three kingdom is such a epic tale then almost every single chinese will hear about it, while this movie is base on it, but there are certain part that derive from the actual story itself, but I will leave that to others to debate or critics it.

For me, I really like this movie, first and formost. Original chinese voice acting instead of chinese character, chinese movie yet speaking in english kind of stuffs. While i know that it is use for international appeareance, but there are not doubt somethings just went missing when they are speaking in english. It is well know fact that you can never translate other languages perfectly not matter what. In the same way, I totally despite watching english movie and hear them speak chinese, or japanese anime in english dub, for I will try to avoid those as much as possible. Give me original voice acting and subtitle, even if it mean losing some of the translation.

2nd. No supermove like throwing fireball, remote flying weapons etc, while i dunt mind those part as long as it is done properly and nicely, but if you are using 3 kingdom as the base and start throwing those stuffs in, it is just out of place, so i was really happy not such things happen here. While martial fighting kind of fancy but it was in the acceptable level. Nicely done fighting effect, with some bloods flashing here and there, the movie 300 has really affect the action movie industry to something new. But one of the major issues with this movie is that you cannot feel the crash between 10k~20k of armies, it feel more like only 10~20 peoples gang fight.

I think the story is the one do injustice to this movie, too 1 liner, predicetable, and not much character development, while trying to focus on just Zhao Zilong (趙子龍) itself, but the story flash so fast since they trying to put his whole life in less than 2 hour, if they have enough budget (or whatever reason) to extend it to 3 hour, I believe it will be alot better than what they have now.
But overall, i enjoy the movie itself. 7.5/10

The Water Horse : Legend of the Deep

Recently just watched water horse movie in Gadong Mall cineplex with few of the youth. Initially I suppose to watch it in Kiulap Cineplex becayse i prefer the sit over there, and i even checked the internet base on simpur net schedule. So i asked the few youth who are interested, and arrange the time on 2:20pm.
So I went to Kiulap mall after my lunch, and to my horror I found out that they didnt show the movie base on the time i want, and the next show will be on 7:30pm which I don't want it. So I quickly called Gadong cineplex to find out their schedule, and their next show will be on 3:30pm, so i wait the rest of the youth and ask them to go into my car and way to gadong for our movie. Initially the reason I want to watch this movie is because the poster posted it as The Chronicles of Narnia series, now after I do some research through wiki only then i found that it is by Chronicles of Narnia film production but story by Dick King Smith.

As an old Angus explains in flash-forwards, there is always only one such creature: creatures of this species asexually reproduce through parthenogenesis, and always die after laying an egg

I'm not a person that like to give spoiler to the movie or pin point the mistake of the director / script writter, because I believe you can find better site if you want those stuffs. As for me, while I don't like some of the parts and find that some event is just ilogical (Angus for once who scare of water and always fall into water, know how to swim in some part of the story?), but as a family movie it was serve it's purpose that provide great family fun for the children while no extreme violent is involve, while you do get scare in certain parts of the show thought but not something that will lead you to nightmare (hope so).

Overall I will give 7/10

The reborn of Shoyo Blogspot

Some of you may realise that my blog has change it layout, the main reason is that i accidentally deleted my old template and found out my backup no longer work with the new blogger function. So it give me no choice but to redo my blogspot from the start.

For the start, since I no longer good in web language and programming, so the easy way out is always use other peoples work. So far I still like the minimalists approach from the original blogger template, but in today age, I believe majority of us no longer use any resolution lower than 1024*768 (even a 14" laptop use this as the minimal) So i modify the template to 1000 resolution and modify the template element around to suit my taste.
In case you dunt know, now blogger site use XML to manipulate how your blog behave instead of the usual xhtml, the advantage is that it give new users and normal user who dont have any programming language to jump start their, but for those like to tweak their site, that's mean that they have to relearn XML.
But even you are not familiar with the xml program, if you know what you want to do to your site, your best friend "Mr Google" is right at your finger tips, and by google through website I manage to pull off some new spice to my site. While it is still construction with some minor tweak coming along, but hope that you all like to give comment or advise for me to improve on it.

My first ever Bluetooth stereo headset

It has been quite a while I post related to my personally gadget life I suppose? Anyway, after I acquire my HTC Touch 6 month ago, I had been thinking to get myself a Bluetooth headset. Personally I just hate those headsets that you put beside your ear. Somehow to me it look like you are those clerk that doing telephone help line, some more in Brunei, the variety of Bluetooth headset is very limited and expensive, I think so far I see the most variety in headset is still QQEstore, but it was kind of expensive compare to my budget.

Then here it is, my dad went to Kuching for chin ming together with my niece and nephew , so I took the opportunity to ask them to help me get one , with a little drama and adventure along the way, they manage to help me bring back SONY ERICSSON HBH-DS220. So here I am, bring you a mini reviews of my journey with HBH-DS220 connected to my HTC Touch and equipped onto me.

What you get from it

IMO when it comes to size and weight, it will fall into very light category. The build is a bit too plastic for my taste; hopefully it can last against my heavy abuse. Built: 6.5/10
The headset come with a small digital display showing battery and pairing information, a call handling button right at the center, a play and pause button (double as volume control when hold) at the side together with a on/off button. Really not much feature when you compare to some other headset. Feature: 6/10 Ease of use: 7/10
The process to pair this headset with my HTC is definitely easy, all I need to do is turn on the headset til the pairing symbol start flashing, then turn on my HTC Bluetooth and it will detect it. After that I just need to key in the pass code, and select the services available for the headset and here you go. WIRELESS FREEDOM!!!
Music quality is on par with my HTC touch wire headset, and the good things about this headset is that it allow me to swap to any headset with wills, I have tried it with my some of my other headphone and it clearly show that it can produce better sounding if I change to better headset.
Call/Mic quality was quite ok, it was kind of blur when it come to my taste, maybe there is something I miss out? Sound: 6.5/10
Value for money, for RM299 after convert become B $128.00 compare to QQestore B$148.00, and cost more than this if you purchase something similar in the shop, I will said 8/10
The main reason I purchase this headset is that so I can listen to my music collections in my HTC Touch without any wire entangle, so for the sole purpose itself, I believe this kit will server me well. BTW, this is still the first day usage, so my reviews is pretty much base on my first impression.
Overall, while I think the overall quality is sub-par, but I can’t deny that I really love the wireless freedom that comes with it. So at this moment I will give it a 7/10 scoring

A 11years old Network administrator!!! WOW!!!

Just read the news today, a 11 years old boy running and taking care for a school network with approx 200pc’s. It just amaze me that how much potential lie in the kids. Oh man, looking at him, it really put lot and lot’s of IT support to shame. I really need to put into consideration on how much the kid and teen can do nowadays, looking at their potential and not their weakness (always easy to say compare to put into actions though) :p
