中秋節快乐 Happy Mid Autumn Festival

If you live in Asia region, and you are not aware that today is 中秋節 (Chinese Full Moon festival), then you better start getting out of your room and breath some fresh air! Anyway, Mid Autumn festival is such a traditional chinese celebration that any Chinese will know about. Even if you are not chinese, you will be aware of how the market has been advertising and selling moon cake like no tomorrow. If you actually went to the Chinese temple, you will get to enjoy chinese traditional dance and show. But for me I am too lazy to move my butt, so I decided to take photo of the moon instead :p

  A 1/400sec exposures with 100% crop, this make me wish I have a 500mm lens XDIMG_1108

A 30sec exposures, I like how to lamp light spill over the image

IMG_1113 Another 30sec exposures

Looking at all this photo actually make me curious how will the photo turn out if I use more than 30sec exposures, it just that I don’t have any remote control in order to do bulb mode, maybe I should really put that into my consideration of purchase?

Holding a Canon EOS 20D in a time being

For those of you who have read my blog post on My camera main dialler is faulty!!!will know that my faithful Canon EOS 30D is sick and in need of medical check out. Well the latest is that after i send her to Interhouse, which is the authorized Canon medical center in Brunei. After various medical diagnosis, the report show that she is currently suffering from main dialer break down, and need to fly to KL, Malaysia for urgent operations.

When I heard the news, my heart was like drop to rock bottom, she actually need to fly all the ways to KL for operations! Then I asked the ladies who informing me with the latest updates regarding my 30D that I in need for an assistant to replace my 30D role while she is away from me. To my surprise, she actually willing to help me to get a replacement for the time being. So the next day after she have talk to her manager, she inform me that they manage to get 20D as my temporary assistant.

When I was introduce to 20D, my reaction is that she is just like 30D, the weight and the shape is almost identical, the feel when I hold it in my hands is exactly identical to 30D. If not because of the smaller LCD screen compare to 30D, I would have thought that it is my 30D.

Well, I really appreciated Canon Interhouse for willing to rent me a replacement body while my 30D is away for an occasions and hopefully by the time my 30D come down, she will not bring a big bill with her. At this moment, I will just have to rely on 20D for snipping peoples >w<

My camera main dialler is faulty!!! TwT

Just found out that my faithful Canon Eos 30D decided to break down when I was excited to take a full rainbow shoot when I was on my way home. . . .

IMG_0048 Right after I changed my lens to UWA, started up my camera, point my camera to the rainbow, my index finger move to the main dialler trying to adjust the aperture setting. Instantly I know something isn’t right. . . after a few testing trying to roll the dialler, I knew very well that my camera dialler is faulty and in need of repair. . . my heart sink, and my excitement drop to the bottom pit. So I simply snap a few shoot and decided to call it off. . . .

For those who got no idea what a main dialler is just look at the pictures.

Depends on the camera mode you use, it is one of the essential roller to control your camera setting like aperture, shutter speeds and etc. Since I mainly use aperture mode, so I use if really often to control my settings. In fact, this is my 2nd most used button other than the shutter buttons.

So I definitely need to send this to Canon show room for repair, hopefully this will not burn a big hole to my wallet TwT
