What it mean to you being rich?

                               money

I believe a lot of peoples want to a millionaire, include myself. One of the greatest desire of my is to be financial free from debt and responsibility. But of course it will never happen in the real sense :p Anyway, this question come into my mind after I went over to the money charger and exchange some ruppiah, since i will be going to Jakarta next week. I decide just exchange B$150.70, and the return amount is Ruppiah $950,000!!!

One of my reaction was like "wow", really sound like a lot of money. Of course, it wouldn't make my heart beat faster or so whatever since we know that it only value Brunei $150 nia.

Then I remember that being rich is really subjective, to some peoples being rich mean driving a Ferrari, have a huge mansion, own a personal flight jet. While to some, able to have a meals every day is being rich and luxury.

While the world have their ways to measure peoples success and riches. I think one of the most important criteria is being content with what you have and know that everything come from God. Even the richest and wisest man in the bible, King Solomon at his old age said that everything is just vanity and meaning less, just like chasing the wind under the sun.

Of course, being a human myself, I have desire and goals, asking me to content with what I have is difficult. So this is one of the things that I myself have to learn.

Mike Guglielmucci

mike_from australian_news

Picture from: The Australian News

For those of you who not sure who is Mike Guglielmucci, he is one of the youth pastor in the well know church in Australia call Planetshakers, he is also a well know song writer and worship leader that wrote ~70% of the songs on most of the latest Planetshakers albums like All for Love, Free, Saviour of the world etc. He has reach up and touch thousand and thousands live of the youths around the world through his songs and his ministry, and many of them look up to him as their hero.

But once again God prove that we as a Christian shouldn't look unto men, but to fix our eyes upon Jesus.

If you want to know about it, you can Google it or read from the link, pretty much has sum it all.

I wasn't aware of the news not until saturday when Carol show me the sms, and Joasis told me about it. I was a bit skeptical since I don't know the whole story. So after my meeting and practice I went home and start searching, personally I was shock to read all the news. I mean, come on, you are serving in a mega church, ministering thousands and thousands of youths, wrote tons of songs that touch many life (including me); and out of all this you decided to fake and tell others that you have cancer and go all the ways to wear an oxygen tube and sang in front of thousands of peoples in the Hillsong conference? Why you want to do all this? This is one of the thoughts that go through my mind, and I believe a lot of us ask the same questions also.

Honestly, I was sad that to see another great man of God fall due to sins and reasons that I can't understand (only God know what Mike go through in his heart). It was really a tough week for planetshakers, churches in Australia and around the globe, most so to the family of Mike Guglielmucci. The only things I can offer is a prayer to God both for the family of Mike, and to the body of Christ then they will find forgiveness, peach and unity in this tough time.

Since I am serving in the youth ministry, as a youth leader and worship leader, I started to ask myself the condition of my own. While I am in no way serving the scale like Mike do, which we have only about 2+ youths weekly attendants. It doesn't mean that I don't carry any impact into their life as I continue to serve Him and ministry. It was my joy to see our youth to find God into their personal life and mature in Him and eventually decide unto themselves that they want to serve Him not because the parents told them, not because of the youth leaders ask them to do it, but out of their own conviction in Christ.

As I ask myself, through out this years of ministering and serving, what is my motive behind it? Do I serve because I want to find acceptance, belonging in the body of Christ. Do I do it because it is good works? Or do it because I hope that by doing so, I can exchange my good works against my sin? Will I become like what the bible said in revelation, like those prophets and workers who cast out demon in the name of Jesus, yet Jesus said "away from me, for I do not know you."

As I started to put my thought on it, we are really just a earthly being that live in worldly earth, as I ask myself, I can identify all this with my own. To a certain degrees of truth, I do serve because I want to have acceptance, friendship, belonging in church,I do it because I know it is good works, and I serve because I know I have sin against Him. At the end, I am just a mere human like the rest of the sinners, knowing that good works will not grant me salvation to the kingdom of God. It is only through the blood of Jesus, and by His grace and mercy that we received forgiveness and healing.

Do I serve Him with the right motive? I think this is a question that I have to constantly ask myself, and needed Him to continue to be my guide to make sure that I don't go to the wrong paths.

B.I.B.L.E : Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth

In modern context, when you ask peoples about bible, they might pop you back with the questions "which bible you are talking about?" You can have Microsoft office 2003 bible, wine bible,  work out bible, even stuffs like the barbecue bible, cake bible etc.

When you Google it out, you will get definitions like:

  • the sacred writings of the Christian religions; "he went to carry the Word to the heathen"
  • a book regarded as authoritative in its field
  • The Bible refers to the collections of religious writings of Judaism and of Christianity. The books that are considered to be part of the Biblical canon vary depending upon the historic tradition using or defining it.
  • A comprehensive manual that describes something. (e.g., handyman’s bible); A holystone

When Joel ask us what Bible stand for, and told us it mean Basic Instruction Before Leaving Bible, I think it is really a good one.

While the bible consist of the old testament and new testament, written about how God create the heaven and the earth, how man falls into sin, multiplied; how God choose Israel as the chosen generation, Jesus came, died and raise after third day, and the 2nd coming of Jesus Christ and the salvation for man kinds.

Bible exist for many reasons, to tell the world the many truths about God like:

    • The creation of the universe
    • The fall of man kinds and its history
    • God characters like His wrath, anger, His love, mercy, grace, forgiveness, holiness, and power
    • How God can use normal human being like Moses, Joshua, Elijah, Peter, Paul etc to perform miracle and share His wills.
    • The life of Jesus, why He have to die for sin of man, and raised from dead on the 3rd day
    • The promise of God
    • The prophecies of judgement days and God plan of salvation of man kind
    • God love you so much that He gave His only son Jesus to die for our sin on the cross, who so ever believe in Him, shall not perish but have eternal life (John 3:16)
    • All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. (2 Timothy 3:15 ~ 17)

In fact, bible teaching can be found in many ways, like those motivation posters, greeting cards, the civil laws etc has borrow or quote the bible in one forms or another. It was so powerful that some peoples even twisted it and form their own religions.

BIBLE : Basic Instruction Before Leaving Earth.

    The greatest commandment:

"Hearing that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, the Pharisees got together. One of them, an expert in the law, tested him with this question: Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?" Jesus replied: " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment.  And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbour as yourself. All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments." (Matthew 22:34 ~ 40 NIV)

    The great commission:

Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.  Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." (Matthew 28:18~20)

I must confess, time to times again I have problems reading the words of God, it was so much easier for me just to pick up a manga, magazine, novel  then read compare to reading bible. Which by right as a Christian shouldn't be the case.

But when I started to put my thoughts and started to type this blog, I just realised that I have learn so much from the bible and from God that I am who I am today, is all because of what He has done to me and done through me. I didn't have intentions to type such a long post, it can be longer but is getting late atm so wanting to go to sleep.

I think one of the main points I want to come across is that, bible which consist of the hidden knowledge of God, which God leaves for us so that we can find Him, to learn from it and apply to the teaching. So that we can live with harmony and peace with one another (if everyone on earth  do that, maybe the world peace will really come?)  til the day when we meet Jesus face to face.

The infamous Anti Virus XP 2008

As an IT support, I get to deal with various computer problems that can crack the brain out of me; the usual task I have to deal with is viruses. Personally I would prefer to clean the virus instead of formatting it, since it will save me time for format and configure all the network settings, program installation etc. However, lately I have encounter this particular virus that I will just told my client I need to reformat it, and it look something like this:

    antivirusxp2008-screen-shot-image

(Picture source from other website, original source unknown)

Basically, what happen here is this program found lot's of virus, asking you to install and register in order to remove the virus (Don't install it!!!). What make this program so easily infested to so many pc is that it actually use the default windows security icon, in some case it use the windows defender icon, making peoples think that it is from the original Microsoft web site.

In the event when the pc is infested with such virus, you will encounter what we called Blue Screen of Death (BSoD) saying that your computer anti virus is not register and needed to register it to fix the problems. Then after that your computer will just getting slower and slower, and it will also try to install other spyware without you knowing it.

Continue reading if you want some advise to remove this.

In most case, if you search through internet, you should able to get a detail description on how to remove this virus, but base on personal experience, it will vary base on situation. Luckily, this particular virus will not spread to your pen drive or any external storage, so you backup your data at ease.

There are few methods you can try:

    1. Use system restore to restore your system to a date that you haven't encounter it. Try find it under Startmenu --> All programs --> Accessory --> System tools --> System restore.

Try do a disk cleanup before you proceed to next methods.

    2. Try download anti spyware programs like spybot, malwarebytes, ad-adware; install and update to latest definitions. Boot into safe mode by restarting your computer, press F8 before it goes to window screen. Select safe mode, and run a full scan and remove anythings that it found. Also update your anti virus programs and do a full scan in safe mode.

    3. Go to start menu --> run (or press windows+R), type msconfig. Then on the startup tab, look for comment like antivirus xp 2008, or some weirds filename that consist letters + number.exe (example: rhcn7cj0ea59.exe) Take note of the filename.

    4. Go to start menu --> run (or press windows+R), type regedit. Backup a copy of registry file if you not sure what you are about to do by select File --> Export. After backup, click edit --> find (ctrl+F) search for the filename (eg: rhcn7cj0ea59.exe, personally i recommend for this case search something like rhcn7cj0ea59 or even cj0ea59 for more complete search) Delete any registry that you found, before that take note of the paths. Example: c:\programs file\rhcn7cj0ea59\rhcn7cj0ea59.exe or c:\windows\system32\rhcn7cj0ea59.exe. Then go look for the file or folder and trash them.

After that, run gpedit.msc by go to startmenu --> run. By the way, some of the home edition might not be able to access this due to OS restriction. Go to User configuration -> Administrative Templates -> Control Panel, Display; right click Remove Display in Control Panel -> properties then disable it. Do the same things for

    Hide Desktop Tab
    Prevent changing wallpaper
    Hide Apperance and Themes tab
    Hide Settings tab
    Hide Screen Saver tab

If everything run smoothly, you should be safe after you perform method 1 or 2, or else you can try 3 & 4 if you are advance users. Still recommend to do a scan after methods 4 to be safe, if after all this, you still experience problems, then I got no choice but to recommend you to format your pc lia loh.

If you have further questions or assistant either email me or leave a comment lah, I see what I can do to help you.
