Cloudy with a chance of Meat Balls

cloudy-with-a-chance-of-meatballs-1-1024 Just watched “Cloudy with a chance of Meat balls” today @ Mall Cinema. It is a story about this particular young inventor invented a machine that will turn water into what ever meals you want, then the story go on & on. If someone ever invent that in real life, he will be one of the greatest person in human history I suppose? Just imagine how much problems can be solve if it is use “properly”? I wouldn’t go into the plot since I don’t like to give out spoiler, watch the official trailer here if you want.

I really like this movie for what it is; interesting, hilarious, hardly a bore moments through out the show (less than 120mins if I am not mistaken), pretty good animations and 3D graphics with a decent story line. If you want a movie to chill and have a good laugh, this show is highly recommended. 75/100

By the way, anyone know anyway in Brunei you can watch movie in 3D? Please drop a comment if you have any ideas, thanks

Sunset at Empire Part II

IMG_5551 Finally I manage to bring my newly acquire Sigma 10-20mm for landscape shot, I decided to go back to Empire Hotel for another tried up.

HDR IMG_5611 While looking at the photo you can’t really tell is it using an ultra wide or not, but for me 10mm is really a deal breaker. The coverage is so wide that it is just impossible to do it before, all my shoot in here wouldn’t be possible if I am using my 18-55mm. If I want to use 18mm to cover the same coverage, I would need to take 4~8 shoot and stitch them together for the same effect.

But the convenient also came with a cost, it is much more difficult to make a good composition and level the photo nicely due to distortion of the coverage, so have to be quite careful when composing. But it also make sell portrait so much easier >w<

Sigma 10-20mm F4-5.6 EX DC acquired!!!

Remember few post ago I mentioned that I gonna look for an UWA lens? Now here I am, can happily said that I have acquired Sigma 10-22mm F4-F5.6 EX DC!!! Btw my first sigma lens also :p

IMG_5153 Some of you may ask me why this lens? I actually set my mind to get Tokina 11-16mm F2.8 once I save up enough for that, but when I saw this lens for sale in Brudirect classified with such tempting price that I just can’t resist.

IMG_5154 When I first hold this lens, the first thing that come to my mind is that it is heavier than my other lens, almost as heavy as canon EFS 18-200mm. AF is really fast and silence compare to my other non USM canon lens, and full time manual is really a fantastic feature. Too bad the zoom ring is turning the other direction compare to canon, so I may get confuse when I am using it? Gonna look out for a 77mm ND filter to accompany this lens for my sunset shoots.

Other stuffs I like about this deal is the freebies that come with it, Kenko 77mm UV filter, Sigma lens hood and even a Sigma lens bag!!!

IMG_5158

And here it compare to my other lens

IMG_5157 Canon EF50mm –> EFS 55-250mm –> Sigma 10-20mm

IMG_5168 So why UWA lens? Here is 2 snap shoot of my home, 1st is 10mm and the 2nd is 17mm. From here you can actually see how wide you can cover compare to the normal zoom range.

IMG_5136 IMG_5138 And one panning shootIMG_5141 So I have completed the range from 10mm to 250mm, and started to wonder when & what will be my next lens purchase. A 17-50mm F2.8? Macro lens? However, I know really well that I gonna have lot’s of fun with what I have and can’t wait to see how’s the result will be.

Durian Feast

For those living in Brunei, all of you should aware that last week we have quite a bad black out across Gadong, Mata Mata and etc. Yet it didn’t stop me and my friends to go one of our brother house despite his house is black out also. Why?

Here is the reason.

IMG_4463

Robert actually ordered this from Lawas and get it delivered to his house through shipping, he ordered so much that if I gonna consume it myself it would take more than a month!!!

Candle night durian feast! You don’t get this happen very often, hot weather + hot durian = very hot night XD

IMG_4456 The variety of Lawas durian

IMG_4457 Nice creamy durian meat.

IMG_4458We eat at least 2 full tray of durians……

IMG_4464I haven’t have such durian feast for very long time, the last I can remember is when our family travel to Kuching and stop by the road and brought about 2 basket of durians and that took us almost 2 week to finish!

Thanks you Robert for your hospitability and generosity, it is really a night worth remembers :)
